Beautiful British Shorthair kittens · Quality care · Lifelong support

Travel & delivery

How is a kitten shipped?

With the right licences and veterinary paperwork in place, we arrange travel across the USA, Asia, and Europe - so Elyssian British Shorthairs can settle into loving homes near and far. Travel details and costs are confirmed in writing for your destination.

Welfare first

Travel planned around your kitten

Every journey is organised with safety, calm handling, and clear communication in mind. We only confirm travel once your kitten is ready to leave, paperwork is complete, and the route suits their age and temperament.

Wide reach

Where regulations allow, we support placements across the USA, Asia, and Europe, plus UK and nearby collection options for families closer to home.

Documented & prepared

Health certificates, carrier standards, and feeding notes travel with your kitten so the journey is organised from crate to handover.

Human support

You receive tracking details, travel-day updates where available, and a follow-up after arrival so the first hours home feel supported.

After you register

Tracking your kitten

Once delivery is booked and confirmed, the transport provider shares a tracking reference plus the schedule you need to meet your kitten. Keep those details handy for the airport desk, courier window, or nanny handover.

  • Flight or courier booking confirmation
  • Tracking number and carrier contact details
  • Expected departure and arrival times
  • Pickup location and any ID requirements
  • Our contact details for travel-day questions

What shipping covers

A complete travel package

Quoted shipping costs are built to cover the essentials so your kitten travels prepared, documented, and as comfortable as possible.

Airfare

The kitten's ticketed journey with the chosen airline or nanny route.

Travel crate

An airline-approved carrier sized for a secure, well-ventilated ride.

Health certificate

A veterinary health certificate required for air travel compliance.

Care packet

A dedicated go-home kit with settling guidance for the first days.

Familiar food

A supply of the diet your kitten has been eating to ease the transition.

Care notes

Practical information for feeding, litter, and first-week routines at home.

Airline travel

Premium delivery standards

Most air journeys use a counter-to-counter style booking so your kitten's path through the airport is clear, supervised, and as seamless as possible.

Comfort in the air

Kittens travel in a pressurized, temperature-controlled hold designed for live animal transport - never in an unregulated cargo area. Routes are chosen with flight length and layover risk in mind.

Before we book

Clear travel planning

Destination, airline rules, and seasonal schedules all shape the journey. You receive a written travel plan before anything is booked - so the route and handover are agreed in advance.

  • Details confirmed before booking
  • Destination and airline rules reviewed
  • Same-day arrival targeted where possible

Choose your path

Ways of getting your kitten

Families may receive their Elyssian kitten by flight nanny, airline shipping, specialised ground service, airport pickup, or a local meet-up. We help you pick the option that fits distance, budget, and comfort.

Door-to-door

Specialised ground service

Prefer road travel? A pet transport van can bring your kitten to your door across the continental UK and other agreed ground routes. Details depend on mileage and location. This option avoids airports entirely.

Meet in person

Airport pickup

If you prefer to fly in and collect yourself, we can meet you at a major airport by arrangement and hand over your kitten in person - or welcome you at the cattery when visits are booked. We enjoy meeting adopters and will confirm the meeting point and timing in writing.

Nearby families

Local pickup

If you live locally or within an easy drive, we can arrange an in-person handover at an agreed public meeting point near the cattery. Local families are also welcome to book cattery visiting hours by appointment when available.

By appointment

Cattery visits

Homeowner's insurance and biosecurity both matter here. We do not offer open walk-in visits to the living areas of the cattery. Limiting foot traffic helps protect queens, litters, and resident cats from infectious disease. Thank you for respecting this boundary - we are happy to arrange a structured appointment where appropriate.

Peace of mind

Ensuring comfortable transitions

Shipping a kitten can feel daunting. Our process is built around calm preparation, short sensible routes, and clear updates so the journey is as uneventful as a travel day can be.

  • Experience arranging kitten travel with reputable airlines and specialist partners
  • Feeding notes attached to the carrier for anyone handling the crate
  • Water provided in a form that stays available during the journey
  • Typical flight windows of about 4-7 hours on many domestic-style routes
  • Schedules monitored for delays or layovers so you stay informed
  • Soft bedding plus a familiar-scent cloth or small comfort item from home
  • Goal of same-day arrival whenever the route allows

In-cabin care

Flight nanny: a personal delivery

For families who want the gentlest handoff, a flight nanny accompanies your kitten in the cabin and delivers them directly into your care at the arrival airport. This is our most personalised air option - dedicated attention for the whole journey, with handover face to face.

We only refer trusted partners. Once you choose this path, we introduce you to the transport company so schedules and airport meeting details are arranged clearly between you and them.

Secure, attentive, and designed to put your kitten into your arms - not a distant cargo desk alone.

Health certificate and arrival procedures

Health certificate

Air travel requires a veterinary health certificate confirming your kitten is fit to fly. This is arranged before departure and travels with them as part of a compliant, safe journey.

Be ready on time

Please be at home or the airport at the agreed time. For many airport collections, your kitten is ready roughly one hour after the scheduled landing. Bring a valid photo ID for pickup.

Tell us you are home

Call or email once your kitten is safely with you. Book a veterinary check within 48 hours, and we follow up about 24 hours after arrival to answer questions and check how settling in is going.
